For years, young women disappear at increasingly shorter intervals in Mödling. When 19-year-old schoolgirl Jeanny, who hasn’t yet found her place within her family and the society, gets to know the inscrutable tax accountant Johannes, the encounter has something threatening about it initially. But Johannes sees so much more in Jeanny, who already lost her father at a young age, than just an innocent girl and gives her support and recognition. The impossible love that develops between the two and behind which monstrous abysses open up, render the climate of fear ever more acute. The citizens of Mödling, who have organized themselves into a vigilante group, are on edge because of the many unexplained disappearances of young woman. Is Johannes the culprit? And will Jeanny be his next victim? Or is an innocent man caught in the crosshairs of investigators and the parent mob, and Jeanny is actually his great love?
